What is SEO ?
Search Engine Optimization or SEO as webmasters fondly call it, is a method to improve the reach of a website to the people who might be in need of such websites. It could be for the content, service, product, advice or just about anything that website has to offer. And the people who are searching it on popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN and more. And yes, of course to increase the popularity of your website on the World wide web.
Webmasters are mainly concerned with the SERP (Search Engine Results Page) of their Website listing for a certain keyword or a phrase. Now it’s not necessary for a person who has a website to know about various techniques related to SEO, since their are many established companies and individuals who offer SEO service for a nominal price.
So the question is “Is SEO needed for my website or blog ?“
Oh well I would say the main factors that should be taken into considerations are:
What is the niche your site is into and how much competition your website has on various search engines ? How serious are you about your website, what are your expectations (monetary gains or personal satisfaction) out of it ? Is your website content very desirable to a mass of people ? Are you looking for Search Engine based visitors ?
And various other factors which comes into play. SEO does cost a bit of money and time and alternatively completely free of cost but a lot of hard work. But it’s quite possible for you to implement certain easy-to-do SEO fixing for your website to gain much more visitors and profit from it.
I do not describe things like they do in Wiki SEO for the fact that I really don’t want to mimic them. They are just too good. But what I try to explain in my blog is a lot easier for a beginner or an intermediate website developer to understand about various techniques and concepts to help make their website better.
So keep in mind that you do not need formal education or join various programs to run and make a better website and inturn make some money out of it. The desire and the passion to commit yourself to learn and start off with your ventures related to websites is essential and I shall help you anytime.
