I Make Revenues From Adsense at a Very High Click-through Rate

February 26th, 2010 No comments

There are times Google’s heralded ad affiliate program isn’t in your long term business interest. Oh no I said it!

AdSense isn’t the unstoppable revenue engine for every eBusiness. Before I am taken out and flogged by the eCommerce pundits — please let me explain what I mean in my defense.

I make revenues from AdSense at a very high click-through rate. I experience high click-through rates with AdSense without resorting to questionable tactics like tricking site users with photos (the AdSense trick and tip dujour).

So my perspective is from one who has made decent income from AdSense to fund aspects of his business like advertising seminars — and outsourcing to his virtual assistants. Yes, AdSense is a legitimate and significant revenue source. However evaluate AdSense with some type of balance.

By now you may have heard about people like Joel Comm’s six figure income with AdSense, or Jason Calacanis of Weblogs being on his way to generating 1 million dollars in AdSense revenue. Google’s Ad revenue sharing affiliate program for publishers certainly seems to be an eSales Nirvana for many webmasters.

But there are obvious and not so obvious times not to use AdSense ads on your sites. Let’s list – examine – and explain them below.

~~~~> 1. On Sales or Mini-sites
This is a no-brainer. If you are trying to sell a particular product that is important to your bottomline, you don’t want AdSense ads distracting your customers from either joining your email list, or hindering your site’s online sales process.
However I do see hybrid sites that are mini-sites or full scale eCommerce sites, with AdSense at the bottom of their pages. This might not be so bad since only 1% – 15% of your site visitors will either buy from you or fill out a form.
The thinking with this approach is you might as well make money from disinterested parties using up your server’s bandwidth.
~~~~~> 2. SEO Business Sites

If your livelihood depends on search engine optimization or marketing for a living you might want to think twice about displaying AdSense Ads on your site. I can tell you this from personal experience. I once was on top of MSN for search engine marketing in my local area. I concentrated on my local area because I found people felt more comfortable hiring an eCommerce consultant locally.

One day my site fails totally out of the MSN index. After intense study I noticed that I obviously had a filter on my site from MSN.

I analyzed all the top ranking sites in MSN and noticed the only difference between me and the other top ranking sites was I had Google AdSense ads on my site. Someone at MSN felt that my AdSense ads, and perhaps to a less extent, my book on SEO, was getting a free ride in the MSN search engine database.

In fact I noticed that there were no sites with AdSense ads for at least the first 3 pages. Plus the sites with AdSense were only using 1 ad unit at the bottom of the home page (there were very few of them in the top 5 pages).

I knew it was strange to not have AdSense ads on the top Internet marketing sites. This prompted me to scan other industries where I noticed the same trend.

Many of the leading SEO gurus have sites that have been banned from the top listings by the search engines. It seems the more visible you become, the more of a target your sites are to the search engine auditors.

Some of my sites are still on the top of MSN with AdSense ads but that doesn’t mean they won’t also be targets in the future.

Let’s face the facts. MSN and Yahoo! have competing ad networks to Google’s, and this competitive situation is rife for a potential backlash against SEO sites with AdSense ads.

Many SEOs will point to exceptions to this position. However you have been warned!

Think about it, how long will MSN and Yahoo! sit back and watch SEO driven websites use their search indexes to fund Google? Did you know SEO in MSN and Yahoo(!) — is much easier to obtain.

Therefore optimized sites are creating an ad sales wealth transfer from MSN and Yahoo into the pockets of Google! It won’t be long before Yahoo! and MSN begin to devalue ranking on AdSense sites in their databases — if not outright ban them.

If you are in the search engine business stay search engine neutral, or create multiple sites for different search engines.

~~~~~> 3. When AdSense Becomes Your Only Business Model
When you become so myopic in your thinking that you build a business solely on AdSense revenue — think again my friend. Why build a business solely on the largess of Google?
I don’t know if your realize it or not, but the sites making the real big AdSense money usually have a following that doesn’t depend on the search engines. Internet mavens like Chris Pirillo or Joel Comm have been on the Internet a while and have followings for their websites. Therefore they can consistently make six figures with AdSense.
These content powerhouses are an asset to Google and not the other way around. But do you think Google is going to sit back and watch just anybody make big bucks off of their top rankings?
If you do a search on most keywords you will notice many of the top ranking sites are news sites, .gov sites, or .org sites these days. The only exception is in industries where these sites don’t really exist like eCommerce industries (clothing, shopping, etc.).
No doubt in most industries you will notice a conspicuous scarity of AdSense sites in the top rankings. In other words don’t bet your future fortunes on AdSense.
An IPO based on projections of AdSense revenue isn’t in the future for the average eBusiness. Think of Google AdSense as supplemental income. Building a business solely on AdSense revenue isn’t just silly — it’s just plain stupid.
Microsoft To Integrate Rss Support In Windows Operating System
February 26th, 2010 No comments
Last year Microsoft Corporation shocked the world when they revealed their intention to build RSS (Really Simple Syndication) support in the latest version of the Microsoft Windows operating system, which is under the code-name “Longhorn.” The announcement was fittingly made in Seattle at last years celebration of Gnomedex 5.0, an annual conference for avid technology buff and industry influentials that concentrates on RSS, blogging, podcasting and other new media models.
With the RSS functionality of Longhorn, it will make it easier for end users to discover, view and subscribe to RSS feeds. Furthermore, it will also make it easier for the developers to incorporate the rich capabilities of RSS into their applications.
Additionally, Microsoft also introduced Simple List Extensions. This is a set of extensions to RSS, which can be used to make it possible for web sites to publish “lists” like of photo albums, music playlists and top 10 lists as RSS feeds. This specification will be made freely available through the Creative Commons license, the same license under which the RSS 2.0 specification was released.
If you are wondering what the deal with RSS, well it’s simple. It makes things much simpler for both the users and applications developers. By adding RSS features throughout “Longhorn” microsoft will be making it easier for the broad group of users and developers to take advantage of RSS.
For example, while browsing the Web, “Longhorn” users will be able to easily discover RSS feeds through an illuminated icon and to read the feed even though they are still in the Web browser. Also, subscribing to an RSS feed will be as simple and easy as adding a Web site to their “favorites.”
Another advantage to having RSS features in the Windows “Longhorn” platform is that it will allow application developers to easily employ the capabilities of RSS in their applications. Let’s take this as an example. A business user who is about to attend a conference will be able to subscribe to the conference’s event calendar. They can then use a “Longhorn” RSS-enabled calendar application to view the events in the RSS feed from within their calendar application. Another example is that business managers will be able to subscribe to sales data that notifies them through a line-of-business application when new deals have been closed.
Exactly what is included in this RSS support in the “Longhorn” platform? There are three vital features. The first one is the common RSS feed list. This core feature of Windows maintains a common list of the user’s subscriptions across all applications. This will enable users to subscribe to a feed once and have all RSS-enabled applications able to access the common list to view the subscriptions.
Another feature is the common RSS data store. This feature will provide a single location where applications can access content that has been downloaded to the PC through RSS. This would include text, pictures, audio, calendar events, documents and almost everything else. All applications will have access to this content in order to create rich user experiences.
Lastly, there is the RSS Platform Sync Engine. Now, this feature will automatically download data and enclosures for use by any application. The engine is especially designed for efficiency, using idle network bandwidth whenever possible in order to limit the effect on the user’s Internet experience. Developers may use the platform in order to obtain RSS data without the need to manage details like synchronization schedules or subscriptions.
It was mentioned before that microsoft has also developed the Simple List Extensions. What is this you ask? Well, this is a set of enhancements to RSS to help Web sites publish lists of content that users can subscribe to, like top 10 songs from a music site, a wish list from an online retailer or a user’s ranking of favorite videos.
Since RSS is mainly designed for subscribing to time-based feeds, it only seems logical to have a Simple List Extensions. This expands the scope of RSS in two significant ways. First is that it boost RSS to capture information vital in representing lists like ordering of items. With the help of these extensions applications may become aware of changes in a list, for instance when an item has changed position or has taken off from the list altogether.
Secondly, it allows publishers to embed useful information about the list itself. For instance, an online retailer can supply additional information about each item in a list such as price, sales rank, average customer rating and type of merchandise. The extensions allow richer flexibility and capability for sorting and ordering. Thus, it makes it possible for users to easily sort their friends’ wish lists by sales rank or popularity.
Web sites that create lists using the Simple List Extensions will also find it quite beneficial. How so? Let’s say a music site will be able to deliver a daily top-10 tracks list to help drive increased sales. This is quite difficult to accomplish today, since it requires significant work for both content providers and RSS solutions. Already shopping sites are enthusiastically voicing out their excitement and support for Longhorn.
A lot of people believe that RSS is indeed the key to how the public will use the Internet in the future, which is delivering important information automatically. Microsoft recognizes this, which is why they are investing heavily in RSS for Windows “Longhorn” to make it easy for users to discover, read and subscribe to RSS feeds as well as enable developers to deliver powerful, smart applications that act on the information on behalf of the user.
Microsoft was founded way back in 1975. For more than three decades now they remain a worldwide leader in software, services and solutions. The company is dedicated to helping people and businesses realize their full potential by providing them with innovative technology. Windows, Windows Media and MSN are just among the many brainchild of this global leader. Today, microsoft remains true to its promise by introducing their latest breakthrough – Longhorn!
How to Conquer Google SERPs to Make Money with Adsense
February 26th, 2010 No comments
Making money with Google Adsense isn’t that difficult if you stay focused on what matters, and what matters is ranking high in the search engines result pages of Google. The rest doesn’t really matter, and will take care of itself. For example, a lot of people attempt to rank high in Yahoo and MSN, making changes that actually make it more difficult to rank in Google, where you make the most money.
Just think like Yahoo and MSN. If you want to improve, you would start to copy what Google is doing to get better search results. Yo can count on that happening, and it is happening now.
Follow this instructions!
1 So the first step in conquering the search engine result pages is to focus on Google search results alone. Don’t try to target all of thesearch engines as it’ll hurt Google results without being able to make up for it with the few extra hits you may get in other engines.
2 Next, you focus on giving Google search what it needs and wants, and that is highly targeted keywords placed in the proper places in your post title and content.
3 Remember, Google can’t distinguish phrases, it can only identify individual words you put in your content and give results based on that. That’s the secret behind placing keywords where they need to be to get the best results.
4 So write for Google Adsense or search engine results, rather than for readers. If you write for readers, your text may read great, but nobody will be reading it if you don’t place keywords where they need to be so Google can index them properly.
5 Along with in your post title, include you keywords in the first paragraph of your post content as well as the last. The reason why is Google reads content in that way, so you’re helping them discover what your content is about.
It also helps them place the right targeted Adsense ads on your blog. That increases click-through rates.
6 Finally, scatter your keywords throughout your post text, without doing it so much you may get penalized. This is a good reason to write longer posts so you can have a lot of keywords for Google to find, without incurring penalties for ‘stuffing’ keywords in an obvious attempt to game the system.
7 This is about all you can do to optimize your blog or website for Google. Once that is done, spend the rest of your time building up backlinks, and your entire Google Adsense strategy is in place, and you’ll start to make some serious money over time.
SEO Pagerank – How To Get High Pr Within A Few Months
February 26th, 2010 No comments
SEO pagerank methods are actively used by many webmasters to increase their site’s overall targeted traffic to build online credibility and provide more profit.
Why is SEO pagerank vital for your site?
If properly applied, SEO can increase your site’s ranking on popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. I hope you understand the importance of of organic traffic, coming to your site directly from search engines. In this case, you will have more chance to make as many sales as you can. Why? â?? Because traffic coming directly from search engine is much more TARGETED than other kind of traffic.
Important Tip:
Itâ??s essential to take your place in the first page of Google, even much better in top 5. In other words, web users while searching for certain keyword terms, commonly use the links found on the very first page, especially the first five links.
So you may wonder:
How Can I Get High SEO PageRank?
I would recommend you to prefer the following 2 most effective ways which Iâ??m also actively using:
1.   Article Marketing
The most common mistake many newbie internet marketers make is improper choice of keywords for their articles.
Important Tip:
Try to use low-competitive keywords which are searched at least 500-1000 times a month. Especially if you optimize your articles with long-term keywords, you will be able to be indexed by Google and appear on the first page even in 1-2 days just after publishing the article online. This tactic really works for me.
2.   dofollow blog Commenting
This is another popular SEO pagerank building method I use for my all sites.
Important Tip:
Try to use only PR1-PR9 dofollow blog pages for guaranteed SEO pagerank.
RSS Directories
February 25th, 2010 No comments
RSS directories are popular these days. RSS is widely used initially by news sites to allow others to syndicate their news stories. Now, a lot of other websites are using RSS. It is being used in flagging new forum headlines, auction listings, sales listings and others.
The meaning of RSS is actually not clear. RSS may or may not be an acronym, actually. RSS may stand for Really Simple Syndication. But others say its Rich Site Summary and sometimes Rich Syndication Standard. The noted creator of RSS directory would be Netscape. It was released sometime in March 1999. The included a UserLand application which is called scripting news. Netscape stopped developing it, but UserLand continued doing so. Another company, RSS-DEV Working Group also released their own version.
RSS directories are sites that collate all RSS links and place them in different categories for other applications to use. This is similar to web hosting, only instead of web pages, they contain RSS links. These links will pop out on the website and when you click it, you will be directed to the main source of the link.
RSS poses a lot of uses for those who’d like to use the Internet for marketing or commerce. Here are the things you can do with it:
Create links from their website to yours.
If you are selling or promoting something, web traffic is important. The more RSS directory you upload, the more chances you have people seeing those and checking your site out. And if they have customized their sites with your RSS feeds, then they would get updated listings from your site to theirs automatically.
Collating analysis.
If you have a brand and you’d like to know how your competitor is doing, you may use RSS to see what they have so far. Get a directory of their product or service so you’ll know first hand what they have come out with. With the data gathered you now can plan on how you can counter them.
Tracking your own progress. If you can check out your competitor, of course you’d like to check out too how your business or product is going too. With an RSS directory of your own, you can know how many people are interested in what you are selling or offering.
Increases productivity.
Putting up RSS directories, let’s say for newsletters, adds efficiency to your company. If you use RSS for sending out newsletters instead of mailing them to recipients, you’d eliminate the possibility of your letter being classified as spam by users, or being sent in a closed mail account.
Increases efficiency.
There are a lot of websites or news articles that could be beneficial to your brand or company. At times, you’d like to add them to your site. Without the use of RSS, you’d have to copy the entire thing down and note where you got it. If you use RSS, then the headline and part of the story shows up on your site. And this is an automatic process now. If you use RSS, you just include the directory and automatically, the headline appears without you doing much.
Posting RSS directories could cost you some. But the benefits override it. Some sites even offer free RSS directory posting. If you are just starting up, you may like to check those out. The more RSS directory you have up, the more the possibility that you are sending out information to the people interested in your goods. Reason behind is that people will only get the RSS feeds that they are interested in. If they get yours, they sure are the target market.
Disseminating information online has become easier with RSS. The technology provided a cost-effective way of transferring facts and figures out. Utilizing it would definitely add up to your marketing approach. With it, you have an avenue of reaching out to even more people so easily.
RSS uses XML to syndicate pages. Though that sounds a little technical, there a lot of websites that has user-friendly interface to guide in building your directory. Go ahead and put up your RSS directory up now. RSS has proven to be essential. It has ceased to be an option; it has become a necessity.
